Photography has long been a calling of mine. From the time I was seven years old and my parents showed me how to operate my mother’s 1970’s Pentax EM to when I received my first SLR camera at the age of fourteen, I’ve been in love with the art of photography. So, when all my schoolmates were getting their first jobs at McDonald’s or the local supermarket, I started working at a local photographic print house.
As film changed to digital and technology developed, so did my photographic skills. Gaining experience in Fashion and Portrait, my attention became focused on wedding photography. This was the perfect stage for my understanding of light and posing to unite to create images that would last a lifetime and be treasured always.
My love of working with Brides remains one of the primary focuses of my work so Bridal Couture was the next natural step in my photographic career. Inspired by exquisitely crafted gowns that encapsulate both traditional and contemporary fashion aesthetics, I adore creating images that reflect each gowns unique sense of self. Furthermore, I know that the images that I now create are helping beautiful brides “to be” find the perfect dress for their special day.
We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic of Creativity – Jonah Lehrer. Travel is my passion, my love. The challenge of being completely out of your comfort zone, in a foreign land, finding the courage to go up to a complete stranger and say… can I take your picture?
